1st Race –
Junior Pony Flat Races 12:00
Pony races open to juniors who have not reached
their 15th birthday as of 01/01/03.
Division 1 - small and medium ponies (1/4
mile). Division 2 - large ponies (1/2
mile).
Hunting attire or silks.
2nd Race – Ladies Flat 12:30
Approx. 1 mile. Catch weights. Lady riders
(over 16 years) who have not ridden under NSA or NTRA rules and horses who
have not run under NSA or NTRA rules for five years. Hunting attire or
silks. Sidesaddle permitted.
3rd Race –
Gentleman’s Heavyweight 12:45
Draft/Crossbred Flat
Approx. 1 mile. Minimum Weight 200 lbs. Open to
draft, medium and heavyweight crossbred horses. Hunting attire (scarlet if
convenient).
4th Race Hunt
Team Relay Flat 1:00
Teams of four members each to be run over a
course of approx 1 mile. Each member
to run ¼ mile and hand off baton in an oval course with hand off zones. Teams
will be run in heats of four, with time of winning team to decide overall
winner. Catch weights. Hunting attire or team uniform. Awards for winning
hunt, oldest team, youngest team and best team uniform
5th Race
Field Masters Chase*
Pony Division 1:30

Open to junior riders on ponies. Riders are to
not have had their 16th birthday as 01/01/03. All ponies must be a minimum of
5 years old. Catch weights. Riders are to follow the Field Master over a
flagged course not to exceed 2 miles with no more than 12 obstacles none of
which are to exceed 2’6”. After the last fence, the Field Master will release
the field to race for the finish. Hunting attire or silks.
6th Race
Field Masters Chase*
Junior Division 2:00
Open
to junior riders on horses. Riders are to not have had their 16th birthday as
of 01/01/03. All horses must be a minimum of 5 years old. Catch weights.
Riders are to follow the Field Master over a flagged course not to exceed 2
miles with no more than 12 obstacles, none of which are to exceed

3’0”.
After the last fence, the Field Master will release the field to race for the
finish. Hunting Attire or Silks.
7th
Race Senior Field Masters Chase 2:30*
Open to amateur adults (over 16 years). All
mounts are to be a minimum of 5 years old and are to not have won a timber
race in the last 3 years. Catch weights. Riders are to follow the Field
Master over a flagged course not to exceed 2 miles with no more than 12
obstacles; jumps will be approximately 3’0”. After the last fence, the Field
Master will release the field to race for the finish. Hunting attire or
silks. Race will be divided into light (TB type) and medium (non-TB type)
weights. Entries limited to four divisions.
ENTRIES
Entry fees $30.00, Juniors $20.00, Teams $40.
To be paid with entry by April 20thuntil NOON.
Check payable to Essex Fox Hounds.
Proof of rider insurance and neg. coggins required. Release forms must
be signed. Races may be combined,
cancelled or split.
